Plot In a mystical empire, Lutzia, a scholar of demonology, and Götz, a former knight, investigate mysterious curses and fight demons. But their investigations attract the attention of the Inquisition of the Holy Order and they are in danger of being judged as heretics. A race for answers begins. With each curse they solve, they uncover the secrets of a great conspiracy about religion and power.

Style The visual identity of Daemonicon elegantly negotiates between mystery/crime and fantasy, creating a completely new aesthetic: it utilises the copperplate engraving technique and mixes a medieval-looking typeface (inspired by the Carolingian minuscule) with the clean, elegant texture of modern graphic design.
Moodboard for the title intro of Daemonicon
Approach The main themes of the series are suffering (symbolised by the corruption of the curse) and healing through forgiveness, as well as the abuse of power by government and religion and the struggles of a society.

Like Dante's Inferno, the title intro originally attempts to introduce the audience to a man-made hell, passing through four significant levels, while explaining how a curse is made: Conflict, suffering, corruption and grasping for power.

As a mystery/crime series, it was important to introduce the protagonists early on, showing Lutzia and Götz with their characteristic tools to indicate their line of work and hint at their backstory.
